277 pp. 8vo. A detective mystery by Lawrence Saunders, not to be confused with Lawrence Sanders (also a mystery author) or Laurence Saunders (a 16th century Protestant martyr). This author's name was actually a pseudonym used by John Burton Davis & Clare Ogden Davis, who collaborated to write seven mystery novels, of which this is the first. John & Clare were both professional journalists writing for newspapers, and John was also a war correspondent. (Texas State Historical Association).
