Marco Polo was an Italian merchant traveller from Venice. He learned the mercantile trade from his father and uncle. He travelled Asia/China, and had an impact on cartography, and lead to others to be inspired to travel to the Far East due to Polo's written descriptions, one of those to be inspired was Christopher Columbus.
