Typed Letter with Cover, Invitation to 15th Annual Reunion of the Survivors of the 3d [3rd] NY Cavalry at Newport House, Irondequoit Bay, on Wednesday, June 12th, 1895.

An invitation to the 15th annual reunion of the 3rd New York Cavalry, which fought for the Union in the American Civil War, mainly in North Carolina and Virginia under the banner of the Army of the Potomac. Included is the original mailing envelope, which is stamped 'Returned to Writer' on June 3, 1895, about two weeks after it was originally sent (May 18). The meeting place for this reunion, Newport House, was among the oldest businesses in the Rochester area until it was razed in 2011 to make way for new developments.
