This edition translated, with occasional notes, by Edward Underwood, with a foreword by Hamilton Schuyler. Roebling was a civil engineer who gained fame as the designer of the Brooklyn Bridge. He and his brother, on land they purchased after emigrating from Prussia, established the town of Saxonburg as a community for German settlers. This book is his diary during that voyage, which includes very specific and detailed information about the American political and social situation, Roebling's plans upon arriving in the United States, conditions on the ship and of its passengers, and the voyage itself.","brand":"The Roebling Press","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":12595866533958,"sku":"2202352","price":125.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1232\/9510\/products\/2202352.jpg?v=1571423766","url":"https:\/\/ym-demo.myshopify.com\/products\/2202352","provider":"Yesterday's Muse","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
