96 pp. A collection of poems by Christopher Logue, a poet, playwright, and pacifist associated with the British Poetry Revival. Logue won the 2005 Whitbread Poetry Award for Cold Calls, and his poem Be Not Too Hard was adapted as a song by the recording artist Donovan. The copyright page is syntactically unusual and somewhat amusing, describing the book as 'generously scattered with dirty words, particularly on pages 9, 31, 37, and 45' and claiming it 'was written by Logue / a sexy young girl living among corrupted villagers / who keeps her innocence through love,' adding that 'On the day of publication its price would buy / 11 cut loaves, / 3 yards of drip-dry nylon, / 25 gallons of boiling dishwater, / 5 rounds of M1 carbine ammunition, / or a cheap critic; / what do you expect for $1.95 - Paradise Lost?"
