The Life Zone Map occurring on page 59 of the first volume of the larger work is here reproduced in smaller form as a frontispiece. A systematic list of the birds of Minnesota as at present known has been added. A few of the rare and accidental species included in this list are not included in the keys and descriptions.--Preface
