148 pp. A collection of recipes from Alice's Restaurant, which became famous due to the Arlo Guthrie song of the same name, which inspired a 1969 film starring Guthrie. Includes a 33 1/3 RPM record featuring a recorded introduction by Arlo Guthrie. The author, Alice May Brock, was the owner of three restaurants (The Back Room, Take-Out Alice and Alice's at Avaloch), and The Back Room was the restaurant which inspired Guthrie's song. Guthrie was a student of Brock's at the Stockbridge School, and the song was based on a visit he and friends made to her house on Thanksgiving, which is why the song is traditionally played on some radio stations for the holiday.
