A revision of Webster's monumental achievement of lexicography, edited by Chauncey A. Goodrich (a Yale professor, and Webster's son-in-law) and Noah Porter (president of Yale). Includes preface by Noah Porter, an index of illustrations. These include a color frontispiece, three color plates, and a section of several dozen engravings (including images of birds and animals, human anatomical drawings, mechanical drawings, military weapons and armor, scientific instruments, etc.).
