174 pp. Andrew Wyeth was born in 1917 at Chadds Ford , Pennsylvania, the youngest child of an extraordinary family. His father was Newell Convers Wyeth, probably the most famous illustrator of his day, and particularly known for his illustrations of such favorites as Robin Hood and Treasure Island. As a small boy Andrew was considered frail and was tutored at home. This left him many solitary hours for explorations of the Pennsylvania countryside, the seacoast of Maine where the family spent their summers, and for the teeming world of his own imaginings.
