lxv, 759 pp. 8vo. Includes black-and-white plates and multiple fold-outs. While at first blush the title would seem to indicate that this is a rather dry annual report, a closer examination reveals numerous engraved plates and photogravures, as well as an appendix full of important textual references to important topics of the day, such as: the May 28, 1900 solar eclipse; geology; Mars; aeronautics, flight, and zeppelins; electricity; the photography of sound waves; African exploration; endangered species; archaeological discoveries in Mesopotamia; yellow fever; etc.
