194 pp. "Echoes from a Foxhole was written long after I retired, mostly from memories, nearly a half century old. I am sure that all veterans have memories of their experiences that in many cases are similar to mine. I am indebted to Captain Charles Hilton for filling me in on so many of the stories in the manuscript. I also learned some interesting details from Bill MacLeod when I visited him in Bradenton, Florida in 1992. The stories I tell are as accurate as I am able to make them. I am sure that many of you may recalls some of the details differently than I. I did the best I was able. This manuscript is dedicated to all the Railsplitters, men of the 84th Division, each and everyone , a hero."
