126 pp. Part First, comprising a system of teaching the elementary sounds, is not in the first edition; but the importance of the subject, intimately connected as it is with the general design of the work, is sufficient to demand an insertion. This is thought to be an improvement. Part Third, teaches not only the philosophy of the component parts of words, but also, their meaning, and adds the combination of the First and Second Parts. In spelling, the Author has conformed to Dr. Webster's orthography, mainly.
