A contemporary regimental history written by the captain in command of Company M of the unit, and published shortly after World War I. During the Meuse-Argonne Offensive of World War I, the 307th Infantry Regiment (part of the 77th "Liberty" Division) played a pivotal role, most notably for its involvement with the legendary 'Lost Battalion.' Captain Nelson M. Holderman of Company K won a Medal of Honor for his actions during the fight.
