Greene was a British author best known for The Power and the Glory, several of whose works also inspired films. He was shortlisted for the Nobel Prize in Literature several times but never won the award, though he won numerous others. The larger of two uniform editions of Graham Greene's works: the first was released in the 1940s in the UK by William Heinemann, this was expanded by Viking in the 1980s to include 23 volumes.
