Greyfriars Bobby

291, [1] pp. Black-and-white frontispiece. The story of Bobby, a Scottish terrier in Greyfriars who reportedly guarded the grave of his owner for fourteen years. This novel is based on those true events, and inspired a 1949 film entitled Challenge to Lassie, and a 1961 film sharing the name of the book, starring Donald Crisp and Laurence Naismith. The novel is written from the point-of-view of the dog, and notable for its heavy use of Scottish dialect.
