200 pp. Edited from a manuscript Greer gifted to Rochester Public Library in the 1920s. The history of Charlotte, NY. Written by historian Emma Among Emma's many interests was the collection of information about Charlotte and its inhabitants, from the tenuous beginnings in 1792, when the Hincher family moved into the cabin on what became the site of the old lighthouse, until the late 1920's. Over the years she set down this wealth of data carefully and meticulously, finally completing her work when she was 75. She made no effort to have this monumental document published. Instead she had two copies typed and presented these manuscripts tot he Local History Department of the Rochester Public Library where they were carefully stored away -for decades. An index has been added.
