Lawrence Lowell, the goal of the school was 'to raise their profession to a higher plane; to do so by giving those entering it an ever better education.' Following the text is a list of faculty and students, of particular interest for its inclusion of those who served (and died) in World War I (even including four who fought on the side of Germany).
