A work designed for use as a textbook, by a friend of noted Unitarian Joseph Priestley. The book is dedicated to Priestley, and despite occasional professional disagreements the two were friends. Enfield was also a Unitarian minister, and is best known for his 1774 work on elocution, entitled The Speaker.
