A work about the Spanish conquistadors, by a man who served in three Mexican expeditions: those of Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba (1517) to the Yucatan peninsula; the expedition of Juan de Grijalva (1518); and the expedition of Hernan Cortes (1519) in the Valley of Mexico. The history relates his participation in the conquest of the Aztec Empire. The work's title in English is The True History of the Conquest of New Spain. It was originally written in 1568, but not published until 1632, and not appearing in a full English translation until 1800. Preceding the text is the author's original introduction, a bibliography of editions of the work from 1632-1960, and a chronology of Mexican dynasties.
