vii, 429 pp. "At the annual meeting of the Seneca County Medical Society held at Waterloo, N.Y., July 23, 1885, a resolution was introduced by the late Dr. Samuel R. Welles, and adopted by the society, that a committee be appointed which should prepare biographical sketches of members of the society from its earliest history to the (then) present time. ...Thirty-eight years later, Oct. 8, 1925, on the sixtieth anniversary of the original re-organization of the society, it was the unanimous expression of the members present in session at Willard State Hospital that a more complete history of medical organization in Seneca County be compiled, together with biographical sketches, so far as possible to obtain, of all physicians who ever practiced medicine or surgery in Seneca county. ...the duty of compiling the present volume was delegated to Dr. Lester W. Bellows. ...So far as we have been able to ascertain, the Seneca County Medial Society, although re-organized several times, will have reached, on February 6, 1927, the venerable age of one hundred and seventeen years."
