vi, 112 pp. Careful review of pension records has resulted in these abstracts for more than 400 Revolutionary War veterans from the Mohawk Valley in east-central New York. Mohawk Valley citizens of 1776 were in mounting conflict with England, pressured by Loyalists, and fearful of Indian tribes loyal to the Crown. As a result, the Tyron County Militia was formed, comprising five geographically based regiments. The veterans whose pensions are abstracted here were members of these regiments, although a few also served in the New York Line. This volume includes vital genealogical data on these veterans and their families, as well as personal accounts of the hardships they endured.
