312 pp. John Norwood has captured the life and breath of the Rio Grande's more interesting three-foot-gauge lines in southern Colorado and northern New Mexico. It spans from their birth to their eventual abandonment. He also added his own insights and stories behind the Narrow Gauge and its people. In 1937, Norwood joined the Rio Grande as an agent-operator retiring in 1975 as director of service planning and quality control.
