Illustrated title page and full-page illustrations by Elihu Vedder, an American painter best known for this work, but who also contributed an illustrated title page for the Dore edition of Poe's The Raven. The Rubaiyat has been released in hundreds of editions with various styles of bindings and illustrations. The 1884 deluxe edition with Vedder's illustrations is arguably one of the best.
