A government report providing detailed information about the natural history of New York State. Colvin was an avid outdoorsman, and made the recorded ascent of Seward Mountain. His enthusiasm for the Adirondack region eventually led him to submit for funding to complete a survey, and these efforts played a large part in the designation of the Forest Preserve and Adirondack Park as protected lands.
