839 pp. A Sanskrit-English dictionary printed in 1900, based on the first such dictionary, which was originally released in 1819. This work was compiled by the superintendent of the Free Sanskrit College in Calcutta, which was founded in 1824 and still exists today as an affiliate of the University of Calcutta. The college has established a reputation for academic excellence, specifically in relation to the study of ancient Indian languages, and the interpretation of ancient Indian texts.
