Lanchester and James Stewart, he was responsible for such high Edwardian Baroque buildings as the Methodist Central Hall, Westminster (1905), Cardiff City Hall (1897) and Deptford Town Hall (1903). The artist taught in an art school in Boston, USA, and was a pupil of John Singer Sargent.
