This version, however, has a division of events by subheadings. Through the use of primary research, it provides a comprehensive description of the Battle of Fort George in May 1813. It begins with a complete description of the town of Niagara, and the areas surrounding, during this time period and continues with a fairly detailed depiction of the events leading to and including the Battle of Fort George. The text contains information on General Isaac Brock, Lieut.-Col. Winfield Scott and General Van Rensselaer. It also includes a preface and a photograph of an engraving that depicts the taking of Fort George. The Battle of Fort George was a battle fought during the War of 1812, in which the Americans defeated a British force and captured Fort George in Upper Canada. The troops of the United States Army and vessels of the United States Navy cooperated in a very successful amphibious assault, although most of the opposing British force escaped encirclement.","brand":"Niagara Historical Society","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":40697827721286,"sku":"2337432","price":8.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1232\/9510\/products\/2337432.jpg?v=1695002874","url":"https:\/\/ym-demo.myshopify.com\/products\/the-battle-of-fort-george","provider":"Yesterday's Muse","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
