xii, [2], 486, 2 pp. 8vo. Fold-out maps throughout. Originally planned as part of the series entitled The Official History of the Indian Armed Forces in the Second World War, which included twenty-four volumes released during the 1960s. The editor mentions in his note, it "could not be included among those volumes due to certain reasons [and] is now being published as an independent volume..." While it focuses on the corps' operation and expansion during World War II, this volume also discusses post-war operations in Burma, Malaya, Singapore, Thailand, Indochina, Hong Kong, Dutch East Indies, and Japan.
