The Dhammapada, often translated as "the Sayings of Buddha", is the best loved book in the Buddhist Canon. It consists of over four hundred verses, uttered by the Buddha on various occasions during the course of his ministry of forty-five years, which illustrate the moral and philosophical teachings of Buddhism.
