A nineteenth century examination of the history of political parties in New York State, by a former member of the United States Congress, the New York Senate, and the Council of Appointment. He also served as commissioner in the settlement of land claims and for state roads, was the first judge of Otsego County, and was a regent of the University of the State of New York. He followed this work with a general political history of New York State in 1848.
