415 pp. Well-done pictorial history of the Central of New Jersey and its locomotives, both steam and diesel. Many of the photos are grouped by area so that photos taken near a particular station over the years are all together, providing a fascinating look at changes in one area (stations include Jersey City, Elizabethport, Elizabeth, Cranford, Plainfield, Dunellen, Bound Brook, Somerville and Raritan). The book also includes a look at the Reading and B&O motive power that were a part of the Jersey Central story for so many years as well as a section on the Hudson ferries.
