Complete in three volumes. iv, 653, [5]; iv, 607, [1]; 625, [1] pp. 8vo. Public records covering five very important years in Connecticut's history, each volume with an extensive index for easy reference. The third volume was delayed by the death of the state librarian on October 18, 1900, whose successor did not continue the project despite the fact that it was almost entirely complete. George E. Hoadly, the author's brother, eventually reset the type and published the work at his own expense, with the assistance of Forrest Morgan of the Connecticut Historical Society, who compiled the index. Leonard Woods Labaree, who became State Historian in 1941, revived the project: he released five more volumes, and his successors published another seven, which continue the state's history through 1811.
