The story of the exploits of John Ancrum Winslow from his disobeying the orders of Commodore Mathew Perry and laying siege to the town of Tabasco in the Mexican War to Admiral Winslow's pursuit and sinking of the CSS Alabama, the escape of Winslow's former friend CSS Navy Admiral Raphael Simmes, Admiral Simmes' return and stealing of a Union train (and christening it the 'Alabama II), torching of The CSS James River Fleet to avoid Grant's capture and use of it, etc. Winslow calls Lincoln 'Old Chowderhead' and is ignored but writes a scathing letter concerning David Dixon Porter's promotion to Flag Officer and gets himself relieved of duty for his mouth.
