176 pp. A story of Jesuit missionaries in Mohawk territory. The site was originally the Mohawk village of Ossernenon, where Jesuit missionaries St. Isaac Jogues, St. Rene Goupil, and St. John de Lalande were tortured and killed by Mohawk captors. Ten years after their deaths, Kateri Tekakwitha, the first Native American saint, was born there, and became known as the Lily of the Mohawks.
