Covers railroads, trolleys, interurbans, gas lighting, electricity, the telegraph, the telephone, infrastructure (streets and bridges), water, sewerage, and parks. Edward Hungerford was a journalist who started as a reporter at the Rochester Herald, and went on to be press representative for the Brooklyn Rapid Transit Company, advertising manager for Wells Fargo & Company Express, and director of publications at the University of Rochester. He is best known for the railroad pageants he put on during the 1920s and 30s, first on behalf of Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, and later as part of the Rochester Centennial.
