The inimitable Edward Gorey lends his artistic style to the genre of the moveable book. The front and rear board are separated by a series of images attached in an accordion style so they can be stretched apart to form a three-dimensional tunnel of illustrations (hence the title). There is even a small circular window with a mylar 'pane' so the reader can feel as if they are looking out at passersby in an alley or street. Part of the Magic Window series. From the back cover: Unexpected appearance of the ULUUS (thought to have been extinct for over a century) in the tunnel connecting East Shoetree and West Radish, St Frumble's Day, 1892.
