Set, printed, and bound by The Plimpton Press of Norwood, Mass., on all rag water marked paper made by the Worthy Paper Co. Association. Best known for his American Civil War novel The Red Badge of Courage (1895), Stephen Crane was a major figure in the fields of Realism, Naturalism, and Impressionism, most notably his first novel Maggie: A Girl of the Streets, which many consider the first American Naturalist novel. This set includes introductions by various authors written expressly for this edition, some quite prominent (e.g., Willa Cather; H.L. Mencken, Sherwood Anderson).
