112 pp. 8vo. A 19th century Italian travelogue by an author traveling in the area for the purpose of (according to his introduction) revising a book entitled 'The Florentines, or Critical Letters on Dante,' though we found no evidence that this work was ever published. Includes a frontispiece from a Chaldiae inscription on one of the ancient towers of Palermo, an engraved image of Mount Etna on the title page, and two plates in the text: a choreographic plan of the craters of the cone of Mt. Etna; and a map of the four cities of ancient Syracuse in the text.
