Punch is a forty-four-year-old black guitar player and alcoholic , who dreamed of writing the great American novel. Then Juliette's daddy died and left them a little money. So they've come to Key West for one last summer. Juliette's going to spend her inheritance on buying Punch time to write his novel. She's going to be his muse and they're going to have fun fun fun, right up until the summer ends and then they're going to commit suicide.
