When Day Is Done

A prolific writer of poetry, Guest presented in his work a deeply sentimental view of everyday life. Of his poems he said, "I take simple everyday things that happen to me and I figure it happens to a lot of other people and I make simple rhymes out of them." This anthology was first published in 1921.
